German Historical Collectibles from 1919 onwards

A comprehensive understanding of the 20. century is absolutely impossible without taking a close look to the tragic period of Nazism in Germany. Who really wants to breathe the atmosphere of the time needs to get his hands on contemporary documents and objects. We are fully aware of the ambiguity of such an undertaking and how easily it can be misinterpreted – which is why apply strict rules to both consignors and to buyers of such items. Our upcoming auction on November 22. and 23. will provide serious collectors, museums and research institutions with an opportunity to access both ordinary and prominent items of political, civilan and military origin. Don't miss out on our catalogue, containing detailed descriptions and imagery of all 1.327 lots!

  • 1.327 lots
  • Hardcover with stitched binding
  • Descriptions in German, partially English translations
  • This catalogue is shipped together with our booklet on the „Winterhilfswerk“ collection, part 1, containing 99 lots.
  • November 22nd and 23rd, 2018

The range of objects covers all aspects of time in the Third Reich, from uniforms and decorations to daggers and field gear, from private to public documents, pay books to photo albums, owned and operated by common soldiers and citizens, but also by the highest members of party, army, industry and sociatey. Short lived figures as 1919's „City Commander“ of Munich, Rudolf Egelhofer, famous Luftwaffe General Musshoff and tank commander Michael Wittmann are as much represented as one of Germanies best known air craft engineers, Ernst Heinkel. A remarkable array of presentation daggers and swords marks this auction, from an M33 dagger with a damascene blade, and honour dagger of the Kriegsmarine all the way to a sword presented by Heinrich Himmler to the Mufti of Jerusalem, Mohamad Amin al-Husseini, in 1943. Please note that all sales of such items will be subject to the restrictions of §§ 86 and 86a of the German Penal Code, stipulating only motives such as science and research, education, museum purposes and serious collection activity as valid exceptions to the rule of otherwise banning distribution of such items.
